Epic Dream Bike Build of Epicness (Sick AF)

Scope our new bike check, dude. Last October we were given a tour of the Trek Headquarters in the biggest building in Waterloo, Wisconsin (probably, maybe second to the pickle factory). We also filmed a race on Trek’s private trails of the growing high school mountain bike scene, NICA (which if you haven’t checked out already, click here). To top it all off, we got a custom Ticket dirt jump frame at Trek Headquarters painted by the Trek’s Project One wizard man himself, Eric Heth. Together, we designed a one-of-a-kind reflective and Refliptive bike. What the heck is Refliptive? It's that purpleish, blueish... kinda... greenish colour-shifting paint you might also call Jet Fuel, Oil Slick or Chromaflair. As Trek puts it, "Refliptive is new twist on a coveted scheme of cycling’s past. Shades of amethyst and bright green flip to purple in changing light like a mood ring." So yeah, it's the coolest colour ever. But it gets cooler. The decals change colour too. Cut from reflective high-vis 3M vinyl, each sticker appears black, but lights up with white sparkles in direct light. This bike looks all sorts of epic. And an epic bike calls for the ultimate bike check of epicness. We got pretty excited over how this bike reacts to light, but I think we can all agree, when you’re given a Refliptive bike covered in 3M stickers, you have to go a little overkill.  Bike Specs: Trek Ticket Frame - Size Large RockShox Pike DJ SRAM XO Cranks SRAM Direct Mount 32T Chainring Stans Flow mk3 Wheelset Maxxis Ikon Tires 26x2.2 Chromag Dolomite Seatpost Chromag Overture Seat Chromag OSX Bars Chromag Ranger Stem Chromag Contact Pedals SRAM Level Ultimate Brakes For all you camera and film nerds out there, we brought out the big guns for this one.
